New! Huge Promotion Event in Prishtina soon by InWaterSense

9th July 2015

Huge coverage promotion event of the project will take place soon in Prishtina, 9th July 2015 at University of Prishtina. Results of the project so far will be disseminated by the project staff (UP and Hydro-Meteorological Institute of Kosovo), partners from universities in Austria, Ireland, Germany, Sweden, and UP students. Presence of main stakeholders related to environment and water domain expected: policy-makers, researchers, businesses. Wide media coverage is planned.

6 internship students of University of Prishtina for a visit at EU partner universities

November 2014 - June 2015

6 students of University of Prishtina benefited from the InWaterSense project through 3 months internships each for conducting research at host partner universities in the project:

  • BSc. Adhurim Hajzeraj, a UP master student in Computer Engineering, is in the visit to Tyndall National Institute, Ireland, for 3 months research in the period March 26th to June 25th 2015.
  • BSc. Astrit Salihu and BSc. Dardan Jashari, UP master students in Hydro-Technics, visited Vienna University of Technology, Austria, for 3 months research in the period March 1st to May 31st 2015.
  • BSc. Vlerar Shala, a UP master student in Telecommunications, and Valon Xhafa, a UP bachelor student in Computer Engineering, visited Duisburg Essen University, Germany, for 3 months research in the period March 1st to May 31st 2015.
  • MSc. Eliot Bytyçi, a UP PhD student in Computer Engineering, visited Linnaeus University, Sweden, for 3 months research in the period between October 1st to December 15th 2014, and January 15th to February 28th

2 post-doc staff of UP Hydro-Technics visited Vienna University of Technology

21-23th January 2015

2 post-doc staff of University of Prishtina, Hydro-Technics Department, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture, were hosted by a project partner, Institute of Water Resources and Waste Management, Vienna University of Technology, for a three day study visit on 21-23th January 2015. Their experience in water quality monitoring through sensors was provided to relate with the needs of the joint InWaterSense project. Apart from the meetings and discussions at the host institute related to the project and experiences in its focus field, visits to the Vienna Main Waste Water Treatment Plant, the Institute for Land and Water Management at Federal Agency for Water Management (BAW), and the Hydrologic Open Area Laboratory (HOAL) were organized.
